~From Mangy Mutts to Privileged Pups~

We are dog owner/lovers. Simply put, The Brigadier is our inspiration. He’s a stunningly dense, yet incredibly handsome Hound Dog/Ridgeback that came to us in the Autumn of 2003.

As in recent times in Southern California, there were a series of wildfires throughout the county. Populations (as we are seeing now in 2007) at shelters and pounds swelled with pets that had either been lost, or given up for adoption. As anyone who has adopted a pet knows, there is an immediate connection. He and his brother Garth – The Brigadier’s real name is… Wayne – had lampshade collars on and wrecked everything in sight. Unfortunately Garth was already adopted, so we had to split ‘em up. We’ve had Wayne now for 4 years and we are convinced he is the number one dog in the world. Mind you, he can’t stick a slalom course like a Border Collie, and he won’t be winning any Frisbee contest anytime soon – in fact, the one thing he is best at is sleeping on the couch. We’re totally off our rocker, way too in love with our dog, and try to personify his feelings way too much.

But we wouldn’t have it any other way! We’re building this community in his honor – all hail the Brigadier!
